Report a bad driver in Oakville
Oakville is policed by Halton Regional Police. Their online form is for a place with an ongoing problem, so for one driver you saw, call their non-emergency line. The QEW, 403 and 407 go to the OPP.
Happening now? If a driver looks impaired, is racing, or a crash looks likely, call 911. Pull over first, or have a passenger call.
Report it to Halton Regional Police
To report one driver you saw, call Halton Regional Police on the non-emergency line, 905-825-4777, with the plate, a description of the car, and when and where it happened.
Their online Report a Traffic Concern form is for a location with a pattern, not a single car:
- An intersection where drivers keep running a stop sign or red light
- A stretch of road with persistent speeding or racing
- Drivers passing stopped school buses
- Drivers not yielding to people walking or to crossing guards
Police review every complete report, but won't accept one with missing details. Save your dashcam clip in case an officer asks for it.
On the highways through Oakville
Halton Police hand the QEW and Highways 403 and 407 to the OPP. For something you saw on one of them, call the OPP at *677 on a cell phone, or 1-888-310-1122.
Ask the city to fix a dangerous road
Oakville's 14 speed cameras, in Community Safety Zones, had only been fully running since January 2025. They were turned off and removed on November 14, 2025, when Ontario banned municipal speed cameras.
The town still runs its Neighbourhood Traffic Safety Program: Community Safety Zones with higher fines, pedestrian crossovers, and traffic calming. To report a traffic problem on your street, use the town's Report a problem form or contact ServiceOakville at 905-845-6601 or service@oakville.ca.
Red light cameras are run by Halton Region and weren't part of the ban. The fine is $325.

Warn other drivers
A police report stays between you and the police. To warn other drivers about the same car, post your dashcam clip here. Other people can then look up the plate and see what you saw. Your name and email stay private.
Report a driver or look up a plate.
