Report a bad driver in Vaughan
Vaughan is policed by York Regional Police, whose Road Watch form takes reports of aggressive driving by plate. The 400, 407 and 427 go to the OPP. For a street where drivers speed, contact Service Vaughan.
Happening now? If a driver looks impaired, is racing, or a crash looks likely, call 911. Pull over first, or have a passenger call.
Report it to York Regional Police
York Regional Police run Road Watch, an online form for aggressive driving in York Region. Use it when there was no collision, you don't know the driver, and you have the plate. It asks for the plate, a description of the car, the date, time and location in Vaughan, what the driver did, and your contact details. Reports must go through the online form, not email.
Road Watch steps up with each report on the same plate: a letter to the registered owner first, then a second letter and a call from an officer, then a visit from an officer. You report under your real name, and police don't share it with the driver.
For anything else that isn't an emergency, call 1-866-876-5423. Making a false report is a criminal offence.
On the highways through Vaughan
Highways 400, 407 and 427 run through Vaughan. The OPP patrols Ontario's 400-series highways: for something you saw on one, call *677 on a cell phone, or 1-888-310-1122.
Ask the city to fix a dangerous road
Vaughan ran its own speed cameras from April 2025: 10 of them, two per ward. They issued more than 30,000 tickets in about three weeks, were paused in June, and council ended the program in September 2025. York Region's cameras on regional roads in Vaughan stopped when Ontario banned municipal speed cameras on November 14, 2025.
The city's road safety work now runs under its MoveSmart strategy: more than 100 Community Safety Zones (every school zone is one), neighbourhood traffic calming, and lower limits, 40 km/h in six neighbourhoods and on 15 city roads since 2024.
York Region still runs red light cameras at 18 intersections in Vaughan. To request traffic calming or a new sign or signal, contact Service Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or service@vaughan.ca. Major roads like Highway 7 and Rutherford Road belong to York Region, but Service Vaughan can pass the request along.

Warn other drivers
A police report stays between you and the police. To warn other drivers about the same car, post your dashcam clip here. Other people can then look up the plate and see what you saw. Your name and email stay private.
